Feed Quality Evaluation / Monogastric & Ruminant Nutrition (MSc Or PhD Graduate Student Position) Scholarship Details

Six graduate student positions are available to support a Feed Quality Evaluation/NIRS project. This project is a collaboration between the Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Science, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Lethbridge, and Alberta Agriculture and Food. Specific projects would fall under one of the following categories:

• The use of near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) in feed quality evaluation;
• In vitro digestibility technologies;
• Use of cattle, swine, and poultry models to evaluate energy, amino acid and macronutrient digestibility and utilization;
• Co-product utilization. The main sponsor of the project is the Alberta Crop Industry Development Fund. Competitive stipends are available.

Qualifications: Candidates should have training in the fields of livestock and crop sciences with emphasis on basic sciences and a strong and demonstrated interest in feed utilization research.
